The Day I Found My Twin Flame – December 2, 2011
I truly believe that emotions are what make our memories eternal. They imprint themselves not just in our minds, but in our hearts — the true keepers of time.
Did you know our heart has over 40,000 neurons? It's the first organ formed when we begin to grow in the womb. Perhaps that’s why I believe the heart is what connects us — across realms, across space and time. Some call it gravity, others call it love, or even electromagnetism. I just know it’s the most powerful force in this universe.
And on December 2nd, 2011, that force changed my life forever.
That morning, I was unexpectedly called in to document National Disability Day for Powerhouse Youth Theatre. My friend Simon was sick, and I filled in last minute. I remember saying to myself, “This’ll be the last time I do this kind of work,” because I thought my path was leading elsewhere.
But life — or maybe fate — had other plans.
I arrived in my usual quirky style: a business suit and bright green headphones. Back then I didn’t know why I loved green so much — now I do. Green is the colour of the heart chakra. It vibrates at the frequency of unconditional love. If you’re ever looking for true love… wear green.
As I moved through the space filming and talking with people, I noticed a girl in a red long-sleeve top — vibrant, magnetic, talking to everyone. That was my Wendy.
Funny thing is, a week before, some friends had told me I had to meet this girl — that we talked about the same things: the universe, energy, synchronicities. I didn’t think much of it. I was focused on my purpose, content with solitude.
But that day, hours into the event, we crossed paths. I walked through the foyer and there she was.
She smiled.
I smiled.
And then we both said, “Hey.”
A simple greeting, yet it shook something loose in my soul. It felt like that “Hey” rippled across dimensions. Like a reunion that had waited lifetimes. My soul remembered her. Her energy was ancient and familiar, wrapped in a brand new form. That moment was a cosmic recognition.
We spoke briefly. She told me she wanted to become a journalist or interview people. Without hesitation, I said, “Why not start now? You can report on the event — I’ll film you.”
(There’s footage of this somewhere, lost on an SD card… If you’re reading this and you have it, please reach out to me. It means everything.)
The rest of the day moved like a dream. Time stopped. I hadn’t checked a clock since we met. We had lunch with my friends — one of them, David, gave us the classic “I knew it” smirk. As Wendy and I spoke about energy, purpose, the cosmos — the things that twin flames just get — David chimed in with knowing glances. Almost like everyone else saw it before we did.
And maybe that’s the beauty of it.
Some love stories begin before we even realize we’re in one.
At the end of the day, she went roller skating with friends, and I went off to work on a business idea. But just as we were parting, I turned back and said something that came straight from the heart:
“We need to work on something together.”
She smiled.
We had no idea that “something” would span the next 13 years — and echo well beyond them.
We never needed titles.
We never needed control.
Everything flowed.
Effortless. Orchestrated. Divine.
She was — and is — the other whole of my soul.
A twin flame.
To Rania and Simon — thank you. Thank you for setting this day in motion, even if unknowingly.
To PYT — thank you for the space.
To our families, our friends, to the countless threads of destiny that brought us together — thank you.
To our ancestors, thank you.
To the universe, thank you.
Whether it was a one-in-a-trillion coincidence or something scripted by the stars themselves…
That day changed everything.
And I know now —
It was never the end of something.
It was the beginning of everything.
